Instructions for Submissions

Go to services, press the button, follow the below instructions, and then send the email.

When you make a submission, there are a few key points you must cover. Note that your location is automatically geotagged when you use our services.

• A picture of the artifact next to your hand. The more pictures, the better! Try to get the artifact from all angles. Try and get a light source shining onto the artifact from the side. For big things (like a building or a foundation), put an arrow pointing north in the picture. Make sure camera is in focus before you take the pictures. Contrast the artifact from it’s background.
• Description of artifact including:
  • Color
  • Shape
  • Is it broken?
    • If it is broken, say how many pieces you found and what the breakage looks like (smooth cut, jagged break, etc)
  • Patterns on artifact
  • Any small details
  • Any words found on artifact
  • Measurements if possible
